Hi, I’m Yate! I am still at the beginning of my musical path. After first studying at the Musician 3.0 course in Utrecht—where coloring outside the lines and seeking out and pushing boundaries laid the foundation for my music—I now study Pop at the Conservatory of Amsterdam where I am focusing more on sharpening my technical drum skills and meeting a lot of nice fellow musicians.

Due to my experience in various emerging formations, such as Straydog, Centrepiece Colourised, House Arrest, Het Betekenis and Requisite, my playing style is varied, with grit, rawness and a jazzy edge. I also like to do session work for other musicians.

I’m always looking for new sounds, new collaborations and new skills. My enthusiasm for drumming is endless and I like to pass the passion on to others! It really makes my life a lot more fun and there is nothing I can think of that I would rather do than making music!
