Yes, subscriptions for persons 21 and older include 21% VAT by law.
Is registration necessary?
Yes, registration is necessary to take lessons. By registering, you also agree to our general terms and conditions.
Cancelling & Moving Lessons
How do I cancel a lesson appointment?
You can send the teacher in question an email or app or email with admin@logblock.nl.
I want to cancel one or more lessons; what are the rules and exceptions?
We assume the participant prioritizes the agreed lesson appointments. Cancelling lessons is at your own cost. Exceptions include exceptional family circumstances, a broken limb, or long-term illness.
Can I cancel a lesson free of charge if my regular teacher is unavailable but there is a substitute?
No, replacement by another teacher does not entitle you to cancel or refund.
Do I have the right to a different lesson time if my schedule has changed, or the right to cancel the lesson?
No, the lesson time is fixed in principle. Changes can only be made in consultation and at the start of a new period of 10 or 20 lessons.
Am I entitled to make-up lessons if I missed a lesson?
No, a make-up lesson can only be scheduled if the teacher has availability. If not possible, this does not entitle you to cancellation.
Does a lesson count if a teacher is sick or has canceled and no substitute was found?
No, the lesson will be canceled and will not count as part of the subscription.
Is there a cancellation period?
Yes, there is a cancellation period of 4 weeks.
I want to stop or cancel my subscription; how does this work and what should I consider?
Cancellation or changes to your registration must always be made in writing (by email) to admin@logblock.nl. The cancellation period is 4 lesson weeks after the first chosen subscription of 10 lessons. The first set of 10 lessons must always be completed. Without written confirmation of cancellation or change, the current subscription of 10 or 20 lessons will be tacitly renewed.
Can I stop during the first lesson period of 10 lessons?
No, you can cancel after the first set of 4 lessons, taking into account the 4-week cancellation period.
I want to stop after my first set of 10 or 20 lessons but still have lessons left. Am I entitled to a refund?
Yes, any remaining lessons after the cancellation period will be refunded.
Teaching Methods & Teachers
Do the teachers have a teaching method?
Each teacher has their own unique way of teaching. Various resources are used such as YouTube, Spotify, textbooks, online sheet music, and music software.
Have the teachers completed a music education?
Yes, all our teachers have completed a conservatory or university-level music education.
What is the philosophy about music education at Muziekcentrum Logblock?
Music enjoyment is central. Every student is unique and the teacher adapts to the student’s world.
Is learning to read sheet music mandatory?
No, reading music is not mandatory but is a helpful tool that teachers recommend.
Do the teachers give homework?
Yes, usually via email, printed material, or in a notebook.
Can a parent, family member, or friend watch the lesson?
Yes, for the trial lesson we invite a parent/family member to watch. Afterwards, we prefer one-on-one lessons. Friends may watch with permission.
Lesson Duration & Frequency
How long does a lesson last?
Up to 21 years: usually 30 minutes. From 21 years: 30 or 45 minutes.
Do I have lessons once a week, or can it be different?
Up to 21 years: usually weekly. From 21 years: weekly or biweekly.
Is a music lesson always private?
Yes, we strive for optimal individual attention per student.
Duo Lessons
Can I request duo lessons for every instrument?
No, duo lessons are only possible for drums.
What are the conditions for duo lessons?
Duo students should have approximately the same age and level of experience.
Final Concerts
Is there a performance opportunity where I can see what my child has learned?
Yes, there is a piano recital at the beginning of the year and a performance weekend with live band at the end of the year.
Is participation in the performance events mandatory?
No, participation is voluntary but appreciated.
Invoicing & Payment
How do I receive the invoice?
Invoices are sent by email via MoneyBird.
How can I pay the invoice and can I pay cash?
Payment is online via QR code with iDEAL or by bank transfer. Cash payments are not possible.
When must an invoice be paid?
Within 1 week after the first lesson of each period.
Are there administrative fees for late payment?
Yes, after multiple reminders a €15 administration fee is charged. Prolonged non-payment results in loss of lesson rights.
Why do I get an invoice for 10 or 20 lessons while there are only a few lessons left before a holiday?
Because the subscription of 10 or 20 lessons can start anytime and continues after the holiday with the remaining lessons.
Where do you base your lesson prices on?
Our prices are based on guidelines from the Dutch Toonkunstenaars Bond and similar institutions.
Do you apply inflation corrections to prices?
Yes, prices are adjusted annually with at least 3 months’ notice.
Holidays & Vacation Days

On which days are no lessons given / what are the holidays and vacation days?
No lessons are given during school holidays and officially recognized holidays.
How is the May vacation handled?
We observe a two-week May vacation, even if government advice differs.
I’m going on vacation outside regular school holidays according to rijksoverheid.nl. What are the rules or exceptions?
Missed lessons outside regular school holidays and recognized holidays will still count as lessons.
