Hello, my name is Joris Traas.

“The world of music is an endless journey of discovering new possibilities, but above all, it’s simply a lot of fun.”

I graduated from the Nederlandse Popacademie in Utrecht and the Rockacademie in Tilburg. Besides playing piano and keyboards, I am also a vocalist, producer and songwriter. I play in several bands, including my own act SLOJAY. I also compose music for theatre company De Vrijstaat in Utrecht.

My expertise lies mainly in jazz and soul, but I also feel at home in all kinds of pop and classical music.

In my lessons, I believe it is important to create a safe and relaxed environment where you can openly share what you would like to learn and achieve on the piano or keyboard. As much as possible, I base my lessons around music that you enjoy and would love to play.

Most importantly, I want you to have fun during the lessons and stay enthusiastic about making music!

I’m looking forward to teaching, sharing experiences and meeting you at Muziekcentrum Logblock, the best music school in Amstelveen and the surrounding area.

Best, Joris
