SILVIA MANCUSO
My name is Silvia Mancuso, I was born in Montevideo-Uruguay also lived in Buenos Aires-Argentina and since 1978 I live in Amsterdam. I started playing the piano when I was 4 years old and in the Netherlands I completed my classical piano studies.
A few years after graduating, I started taking singing lessons.
Since 1996 I have been working with various ensembles, mainly with South American repertoire as a singer, pianist and arranger.
I have been teaching piano and music to both children and adults for over 30 years with great pleasure.
Over the years my musical baggage has expanded and I experience teaching as a party where we learn from each other.
I think it’s important to actually play in class to make the way to making music easier.
The piano can be a large, intricate and complex instrument but also easy, funny and friendly.
Patience is important, but having fun is more important to me.
The moment we discover that we can play a song is like a small miracle.
For me, the challenge is to make my students enthusiastic and motivated, for the students (and any parents) the perseverance.
This is how we achieve what we want together: that is nothing more than making music.
Hope to see You soon at Muziekcentrum Logblock, the best Music School in Amstelveen and its surroundings.
Greetings Silvia
